Little Big Tree's 1st ever blog!Posted by: Rebecca Hayley |
|
Hello And Welcome to the first blog by Little Big Tree. If you're familiar with us already you'll have probably noticed that our web site has had quite an extensive face lift. Over the next few weeks we'll be working very hard on our end to bulk this web-site out with lots of stuff we hope you'll find usefull.
Before I get into all that though i'll first take a minute out to introduce myself. My name is Rebecca and i've been working with Little Big Tree for about 18 months. Little Big Tree was initially created as a hobby business by Kris and Tim with Jake joining soon after. I'm the newest member of the team and started out by helping Kris with the artwork and have just started working with them full time - finally getting paid!
In the beginning I was totally unaware that papercrafting even existed - scrapbooking? Whats that? Why would people make cards when you can buy them in ASDA? I just didn't get it - until I saw some of the cards that people had made using the Wings and Flowers CD for a competition, WOW. After that I was hooked. Kris already had a very small craft stash which I took full advantage of and it wasn't long before I was making regular trips to my local craft shop and, quite honestly, buying more stuff than I could ever possibly use. Now a craft room sits where the guest bedroom used to be, oops!
What I'd really like to do in this blog and on the website is share with you everything i've learnt and will be learning. By no means am I a crafting guru but I do know one or two and i'll be picking their brains to bring you as much info as possible. It's a big task but what i'm going to try and do is write about all the major techniques and tools out there and present them to you briefly in this blog and more comprehensively in the Knowledge Base section on the website with video demonstrations. The intention is that hopefully some of you will be able to learn along with me, i'll be making plenty of mistakes and telling you what to watch out for!
I do tend to waffle on sometimes so as much as I'd like to keep this blog relevant and informative i'm sure i'll have the occasional moan about the recession, my ever expanding bottom (and the impending mega diet), how many chocolates the dog stole this week (wrappers and all) and why I cant seen to get yorkshire puddings to rise in that blasted oven. I'll go away now and leave you in peace but i'll be back soon with some info on how to use our website and what the Craft Social thing is all about.
Take care
Rebecca
